$10 Student Series Tickets 

SPA reserves a limited number of $10 student series tickets to select evening performances each season. Through the Student Series, SPA aims to provide K-12 and college students affordable access to the world's best performing artists from all corners of the globe. TEKS-aligned teacher guides are provided for most Student Series performances. 

Friday, September 23 | 8:00 PM | Cullen Theater, Wortham Center
Parsons Dance is known for its energetic, athletic ensemble work. Called “one of modern dance’s great living dance-makers” by New York Magazine, the company continues to pursue its mission to deliver positive, affirming, life-enriching experiences to audiences worldwide, with a repertory of over 75 works by David Parsons.

Friday, October 28 | 7:30 PM | Cullen Theater, Wortham Center
Take a dive into the latest family-friendly sensation with the Underwater Bubble Show, starring Mr. B! Using cutting-edge laser technology, snow cannons, soap bubble tornadoes, theatrical fog, and optical illusions, the Underwater Bubble Show is an interactive performance that appeals to children and adults alike.

Wednesday, December 7 | 8:00 PM | Jones Hall
The Irish Tenors—Finbar Wright, Anthony Kearns, and Ronan Tynan—will bring that signature brand of traditional singing mixed with a little humor and a lot of heart to Jones Hall for a holiday concert like no other. This holiday show will combine enchanting Irish music with sweeping holiday selections such as “White Christmas,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” and “We Three Kings.”

Using multiple moving screens of differing sizes and shapes to create a performance that merges projected images with traditional choreography, Shadowland is equal parts comedic and intensely dramatic, creating exotic creatures and beautiful images out of thin air, using only dancers’ bodies and their shadows.

Friday, February 17 | 8:00 PM | Cullen Theater, Wortham Center
After first encountering the piano at the age of six, Joey Alexander was quickly playing jazz standards from his father’s record collection by ear. Performing as a trio with two stellar musicians by his side, Joey Alexander offers up fresh, youthful takes on jazz standards in his distinctive style, proving himself a true professional far beyond his 13 years.

Saturday, March 4 | 8:00 PM | Cullen Theater, Wortham Center
Based in Chicago, Third Coast Percussion teaches musicians of all ages and experience levels, and has been commissioned by dozens of composers including Glenn Kotche, and David T. Little. Called “sonically spectacular” by the Chicago Tribune, Third Coast Percussion brings all the electricity and energy of live percussion to their live performances.

Hairy-chested and in tutus, the all-male Trockaderos have delighted audiences in 33 countries for four decades. Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo was founded by a group of ballet enthusiasts with a deep respect for the art form, all for the purpose of presenting a playful, entertaining view of traditional, classical ballet. With an inspired blend of dance knowledge, comedic approach, and a willful resolve to prove that men can dance en pointe without falling flat on their faces.

Aspen Santa Fe Ballet has come to epitomize the contemporary-classical genre. This uniquely beloved company will bring their signature style to Houston audiences.

Friday, May 12| 8:00 PM |Jones Hall
Five siblings, all under the age of 40, with one mission: waking up classical music by introducing it to the widest, largest, most excited audience they can find. Whether that means performing individually or, most famously, together with complex five-piano arrangements, the 5 Browns reveal a deep connection to the music while bringing fresh energy and character to their sound.

Saturday, May 20| 8:00 PM | Cullen Theater, Wortham Center
Jessica Lang Dance, one of the nation’s preeminent companies, present their newest work, Tesseracts of Time, which merges the art forms of architecture and dance and features massive sets specifically designed for the piece by renowned architect Steven Holl, the man behind the current expansion of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

Please Note:
  • Reservations and advance payment for the Student Series are required. 
  • A non-refundable deposit of 10% is required to hold a reservation. The remainder of the balance is due 7 business days before a performance. 
  • If seats are reserved less than 7 business days before a performance, payment in full is due at the time of the order.
  • There are no refunds or exchanges for unused tickets. Additional tickets are subject to availability. 
  • An adult chaperone for every 10 students attending a Student Series performance is strongly recommended. Both students and chaperones must purchase tickets. 
  • All seating is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis as reservations are paid in full.
