Society for the Performing Arts’ mandate is to create opportunities for the discovery, development, and celebration of creative abilities in whatever form they may take. SPA seeks to provide a variety of learning experiences for adults and children and to develop bridges between the performing arts and other interests within the greater Houston community and throughout the state of Texas.

For more than 40 years, SPA has brought world-class performing and visual arts to the Houston community. Last season alone, SPA entertained and educated more than 40,000 students with performances, a visual arts contest, dance classes, workshops and much more. Volunteers help fulfill the goals of the education mission. During the 2006-2007 season, SPA Education Committee Volunteers contributed more than 820 hours of their time to assist with the following activities:
