2015 Fall Luncheon

Society for the Performing Arts is proud to welcome three-time Golden Globe Award winner Laura Dern as this year’s guest speaker at SPA’s 19thAnnual Fall Luncheon.  Chaired by Angie Hollaway, Amy Miller, Kimberly Miller, Julie Oliver and Karen Turner-Smith, the Luncheon will take place on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at the Hobby Center Sarofim Grand Lobby. Laura has proven to be one of the great actresses of her generation showing that she is capable of great depth and range, touching audiences and critics alike with her moving and heartfelt performances. A product of two of Hollywood’s most iconic actors, Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern, Laura has built a lasting career living up to the continuing legacy of her family name and craft.  From the lectern, Laura will speak on how her life experiences have propelled her to become an advocate for women’s empowerment, gender equality, and balancing the delicate scales of work, life, and family.

Proceeds from the 2015 SPA Luncheon will enable SPA to sustain its mission of Bringing the World’s Best to Houston.  SPA is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of cultural agents and patrons through its work with children across Houston’s diversified communities.  Not only will your contribution to this spectacular event help propagate our city’s enrichment through art and performance, you will also help foster SPA’s Education and Community Engagement Program, a program which provides over 125,000 students, teachers and parents access to the best in the performing arts in unique, affordable ways.
