20th Annual Wells Fargo Student Art Contest
Storytellers: The 20th Annual Wells Fargo Student Art Contest
For the last 20 years, students in Houston have told their stories through thousands of works of art submitted to the Wells Fargo Student Art Contest. Their personal tastes, family histories and cultural background reflect the diversity of Houston.
Stories break boundaries
The cinematic shadow play Feathers of Fire takes its story from the Shahnameh, the great Persian epic. More than 1,000 years after its creation, these ancient tragedies and love stories still resonate with modern audiences.
Inspired by Feathers of Fire, the 20th Annual Wells Fargo Student Art Contest theme, Storytellers, encourages students to tell their personal story through their submission. What’s your story?
Entry Deadline: March 9, 2018
A special thank you to the sponsors of the 20th Annual Wells Fargo Student Art Contest:
“The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can.”
– Neil Gaiman, author
“I enjoy the contest due to a real-world theme based on a professional performance. There is also flexibility and openness to student expression.”
